Join the Boise State Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Craig Purdy, for an evening of musical exploration. Guest conductor James Ogle will open the program with selections from Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess," featuring vibrant melodies that capture the spirit of Catfish Row, the setting for the composer's opera.
Horn soloist Brian Vance will perform Hindemith's Horn Concerto, showcasing the instrument's versatile and expressive range. The concert concludes with Dvořák's "New World Symphony," a masterpiece that reflects the composer's journey and experiences in America. This program offers a rich tapestry of sounds, celebrating the theme of "The Traveler."
Admission: All ticket proceeds fund Boise State Music scholarships
General Admission is $10 +$3.25 ticketing fee ($13.25 total). Children, students of any age, any institution with ID, and Boise State faculty, staff and students are admitted free (with ID). Free tickets are available in advance at the Morrison Center box office only.
Parking: Convenient parking for non-Boise State parking permit holders attending events in the Morrison Center Main Hall is available just south of the center. Follow the signs and/or the parking attendant's instructions.
